Planning Committee Members

Alison Clayton works for the Public health department of Marin County.

Rafael Gomez worked for the San Francisco Health Plan, a city-sponsored program that provides health insurance to low-income San Franciscans prior to joining Coastal Health Alliance in Point Reyes Station as their Executive Director. He has also served for the last five years on the board of Mission Neighborhood Health Center, which provides high quality medical care to everyone regardless of their insurance status or financial means. Before joining SF Health Plan, Gomez worked as a program officer for the California HealthCare Foundation.
 
Willa Jefferson-Stoke, MPH, is the Associate Medical Group Administrator for Kaiser who has led all projects related to construction since she came to San Rafael over 25 years ago.   For example, she led the building of both of Kaiser’s Petaluma MOB's, the newer Medical Office on Campus, the garage and the service building.   She is also overseeing the new ED that is set to start next year, plus renovation projects.   She is also an expert in operations and equipment.
  
Dick Lemon served as a lawyer for 35 years in the area of mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance, specializing in the wine industry.  He started Napa National Bank to serve that industry, a chamber music series to serve the community and a fundraising 5/10k run to serve high school drama and music programs. After relocating to West Marin he founded the West Marin Fund, a community foundation to support West Marin non-profits.

Michael Mery grew up in Inverness and has lived there and in Point Reyes most of his life. He worked as a carpenter/contractor in West Marin, retiring in 2003. He helped create the EAH housing project and served on the boards of the Inverness Association, the Coastal Health Alliance, and several other community organizations. Notably, he was a principal organizer and the first Chairman of the Tomales Bay Watershed Council.
 
Bill Pickford, MA, has 23 years of experience in medical facility planning with a focus on strategic, capital, master and project planning.  He also is an expert in design and equipment planning.  He has participated in the development, review and approval of twelve capital business cases totaling 345,000 square feet, $479 million.  He has done the master planning for 25 medical facilities.  Bill is presently a Principal, Strategy, Planning and Design, National Facility Services for Kaiser and works in their regional office. He lives in Marin

Suzanne Speh owned and operated a software consulting and development firm that designed and developed operations systems for large businesses nationwide. Now retired, she has served on the boards of the Coastal Health Alliance and many other West Marin non-profits. She has managed successful large projects both professionally and for local non-profits for over forty years.
 
Carol Sweig owned and operated Western Physicians Registry, California's largest physician placement service. Now retired, she has served on the boards of the Coastal Health Alliance, where she was instrumental in establishing urgent care services; and West Marin Senior Services, where she led the initial planning for a local assisted living facility. She created a system for Adventist Health Care to train and deploy "patient navigators" in a large emergency department, resulting in substantial increases in measures of patient satisfaction.
 
Mary Zarkhina is the Director of Strategic Planning at Marin General Hospital where she leads planning and business development efforts for the Hospital.  Prior to Marin General, she worked at UC San Diego Clinical Laboratories as the Business Manager in charge of strategic pricing, business development, and billing for the two campus academic healthcare system. Mary worked for the Health and Life Sciences consulting practice at Accenture, where she helped payers and providers implement health information technologies.
