Health Center Project
Roles and Contributors
Medical Building Committee – plan, raise funds; engage firms and staff to manage and construct building; create ownership/management entity.
County of Marin – provide land for building; consultation and guidance; board representation
Marin Healthcare District – fiscal agent; planning for presence/space; substantial capital contribution towards building; board representation. The Marin Healthcare District now manages Marin General Hospital as well as our local West Marin Medical Center. They have a strong interest in primary care thriving in Marin County, in preventing unnecessary emergency room visits, and in insuring that patients seek and receive appropriate follow-up care where needed.
Kaiser ( perhaps including Kaiser Family Foundation) – consulting and guidance; possible planning for presence/space; substantial capital contribution towards building; board representation. Kaiser currently insures over half the patient population of West Marin. To better serve the West Marin population they contract with local practitioners to provide primary care and urgent medication. In addition to their innovative approach to rural delivery of medical care, Kaiser is a leader in medical technology research and development. We hope to remain a venue for them to model remote care.
Named Donor - A large share of capital required towards building to be named for donor.
Tenants – sign letters of commitment; agreement on terms and capital donations where appropriate; help with the planning process.
Marin Community Foundation – substantial capital contribution towards building
Community – Enthusiasm, support and substantial capital contributions towards building from the primary beneficiaries of improved medical delivery systems.
